| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Jeannine S. Triebel of Peoria, who passed |
| 4 | | away on July 1, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel was born in Decatur to Rodney E. |
| 6 | | and Marjorie (Wilkinson) Spangler on August 8, 1929; she |
| 7 | | graduated from DePauw University in 1951, where she was a |
| 8 | | member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority; she married Russell |
| 9 | | Field Triebel in Decatur on May 31, 1952; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel taught elementary school in El |
| 11 | | Paso, Texas for two years while her husband served in the |
| 12 | | United States Army at Fort Bliss; after her children left for |
| 13 | | college, she enjoyed working at the Junction City Book Shop; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jeannine Triebel was active in the Peoria |
| 16 | | community; she served on the board of directors for the YWCA |
| 17 | | and the Children's Home Association of Illinois; she was a |
| 18 | | member of the Junior League of Peoria for many years, where she |
| 19 | | was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 1970; she was an |
| 20 | | active, longtime member of First Federated Church in Peoria, |
| 21 | | where her son served as the associate minister for eight years; |
| 22 | | she enjoyed tennis, golf, dinner parties, and bridge with her |
