| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard C. Mankowski of Harvard, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 11, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski was born in Chicago to Marion |
| 6 | | and Steven Mankowski on May 16, 1936; he served in the United |
| 7 | | States Air Force; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski was a member of St. Joseph |
| 9 | | Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus, where |
| 10 | | he was the financial secretary for many years; he was in charge |
| 11 | | of St. Joseph's Bingo in Harvard, along with his friend Charlie |
| 12 | | Calvin; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski was a loyal Chicago Cubs, |
| 14 | | Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks fan; he loved to travel |
| 15 | | and was always ready to pack his bags; he especially loved |
| 16 | | going to Mesa, Arizona in March to watch the spring training of |
| 17 | | the Cubs and vacationing in Scottsdale, Arizona; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Richard Mankowski is survived by his wife of 56 |
| 19 | | years, Charlotte; his daughters, Jacklyn Mankowski and Laurie |
| 20 | | (Chris) Stanley; his grandchildren, Maranda, Jacob, and Mason; |
| 21 | | and his brothers, Danny (Judy) Mankowski and David (Nancy) |
