SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Iris Mamie Nixon of Waukegan, who passed 
4away on September 7, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was born in Waukegan to Ira and Mamie 
6Nixon on April 12, 1959; she graduated from North Chicago 
7Community High School in 1977; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was a longtime employee of Lake Forest 
9Hospital, where she worked in the dietary office; she always 
10greeted others with a smile; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Iris Nixon was preceded in death by her father; 
12her great-nephew, Tai'Son White; and her sisters-in-law, 
13Sylvia and Pearl Nixon; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Iris Nixon is survived by her mother; her son, 
15Tremain; her grandchildren, Isaiah and Iyonna Nixon; her 
16sister, Cynthia (Louis) Wilkins; her brother, Louis (Delores) 
17Nixon; her nieces, Tai-Amber White, Lakesha and Alexandria 
18Nixon; her nephews, Gerald, Demontaye, Trellis, Cedrick, 
19Benjamin, and Michael Nixon; and her favorite great-niece, 
20Phoenix White; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Iris Mamie Nixon, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Iris Nixon as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
