| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Eugene "Gene" Charles Griffin who passed |
| 4 | | away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Griffin was born in Elgin to Charles and |
| 6 | | Helen Griffin on September 29, 1933; he attended school in |
| 7 | | Elgin; he married Gail Perry on October 5, 1957; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Griffin began his career at Shakeproof |
| 9 | | Division of Illinois Tool Works; he then moved on to work for |
| 10 | | the Al Griffin Sewing Machine Store and to manage Singer Sewing |
| 11 | | Machine stores; he owned Griffin Sewing Machine Service; he |
| 12 | | worked for Sears Roebuck until his retirement; upon his |
| 13 | | retirement, he sold real estate for Ed Blachaniec Realtors and |
| 14 | | managed Langworthy's in Libertyville; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Griffin was a founding member of St. Dismas |
| 16 | | Catholic Church, where he also served as an usher; he was a |
| 17 | | member of the Men's Club; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Griffin was preceded in death by his |
| 19 | | parents; and his sister, Maureen Caughlin; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Griffin is survived by his wife, Gail; his |
