SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Constantine "Gus" Alpogianis, who passed 
4away on August 30, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Constantine Alpogianis served in the United 
6States Army with the Second Infantry Division during the Korean 
7War; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Constantine Alpogianis began working at the 
9Palace Grill near the United Center in Chicago in 1953 and 
10bought the restaurant two years later; he founded Kappy's 
11Restaurant in Morton Grove; the family restaurant business grew 
12to include six eateries; and
  
 
  
13    WHEREAS, Constantine Alpogianis was a member of the Morton 
14Grove American Legion; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Constantine Alpogianis was the beloved husband of 
16Evangeline (Mastropulos); the loving father of George 
17(Sophia), Maria, and Manolis Alpogianis; the cherished 
18grandfather of Evangeline, Costa, Kyriaki "Kiki", Maria, and 
19Anna; the dear brother of Evelyn (the late Peter) Leberis and 
20the late Mike (Betty) Alpogianis; the brother-in-law of Evelyn 
21(Nick) Kostantinidis and Georgia Mastropulos; and the fond

1uncle and cousin of many; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Constantine "Gus" Alpogianis, and extend our sincere 
5condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
6him; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to  the family of  Constantine Alpogianis as an 
9expression of our deepest sympathy.
