SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Luke M. Feeney of Ivesdale, who passed 
4away on August 30, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Luke Feeney was born in Ivesdale to William and 
6Josephine (Clifford) Feeney on March 26, 1923; he married 
7Margaret Elizabeth Tracy in Seymour on July 30, 1949; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Luke Feeney worked as a farmer; in 1983, he was 
9named the Champaign News-Gazette Farm Leader of the Year; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Luke Feeney was  a member of the St. Joseph Roman 
11Catholic Church in Ivesdale; he served on multiple church, 
12farm, and community boards; he was an excellent example of a 
13good man, husband, father, grandpa, and community member; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Luke Feeney was preceded in death by his parents; 
15his wife, Margaret; his daughter-in-law, Carol Feeney; his 
16sisters, Ellen Brya and Mary Margaret Boland; and his brothers, 
17William Feeney, John Feeney, and Francis Feeney; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Luke Feeney is survived by his sons, Patrick 
19Feeney (Marilyn) and Michael Feeney (Vicki); his daughters, 
20Kathleen Piatt (Dyke), Mary Lawrence (Barry), and Bernadette

1Easley (John); 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Luke M. Feeney, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Luke Feeney as an expression of our 
10deepest sympathy.
