| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Emil Koch of Urbana, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 10, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Koch was born in Alton on December 11, |
| 6 | | 1946; he graduated from Alton High School in 1964 and received |
| 7 | | his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University; he |
| 8 | | received his master's and Ph.D. degrees in educational |
| 9 | | psychology from the University of Illinois; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Koch worked in Urbana School District 116 |
| 11 | | for over 30 years; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Robert Koch's passion for education and his |
| 13 | | commitment to students prompted him to participate in the C-U |
| 14 | | One-to-One mentoring program with District 116; he was an |
| 15 | | active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Champaign, where he |
| 16 | | served on the Food Pantry Board and Finance Committee, and as |
| 17 | | lector and council secretary; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Robert Koch's other interests included travel, |
| 19 | | roller coasters, the television program "Jeopardy" and the St. |
| 20 | | Louis Cardinals; he was always looking forward to warm weather |
| 21 | | and his next trip; and
