     | 
| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  | 
| 3 |  | learn of the death of John Raymond Olbrich of Claremont,  | 
| 4 |  | Minnesota, who passed away on July 20, 2017; and
     | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, John Olbrich was born in Harvard to Raymond and  | 
| 6 |  | Elsie (Ottens) Olbrich on March 7, 1933; he attended South  | 
| 7 |  | Dunham Grade School and Harvard High School; he married Celia  | 
| 8 |  | Whitt in Harvard
on September 6, 1952 and served in the United  | 
| 9 |  | States Army from 1954 to 1956; and
     | 
| 10 |  |     WHEREAS, John Olbrich and his wife  lived in Kirkland,  | 
| 11 |  | Washington for a short while before returning to Harvard in  | 
| 12 |  | June of 1956, where they continued farming; they opened their  | 
| 13 |  | home to several foster daughters and continued to foster girls  | 
| 14 |  | from Illinois after they moved to Claremont in December of  | 
| 15 |  | 1968; John was employed at Owatonna Manufacturing Company for  | 
| 16 |  | many years and later at Triton High School; he retired in 2000;  | 
| 17 |  | and
     | 
| 18 |  |     WHEREAS, John Olbrich was active in 4-H in Illinois and  | 
| 19 |  | Minnesota; he served on the school board in Harvard and was a  | 
| 20 |  | member of the Farm Bureau and the Pure Milk Association; he  | 
| 21 |  | enjoyed woodworking and visiting with family and friends; he  | 
| 22 |  | was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Claremont; and
     |

| 1 |  |     WHEREAS, John Olbrich was preceded in death by his parents;  | 
| 2 |  | his wife, Celia; his sister, Dorothy Kleckner; his  | 
| 3 |  | sisters-in-law, Janis Olbrich and Marilyn Olbrich; and his  | 
| 4 |  | brother-in-law, Jim Roach; and
     | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, John Olbrich is survived by his children, David  | 
| 6 |  | (Lori) Olbrich, Carrie (Steve) Laue, Allison (Craig) Ross, and  | 
| 7 |  | Carol Liming; his  grandchildren, Danielle (Tony) Bower,  | 
| 8 |  | Michael Laue, Ryan (Breanna) Laue, Andrea (Chris) Franko,  | 
| 9 |  | Margaret (Ryan Huddleston) Olbrich, John (Courtney) Liming,  | 
| 10 |  | Brandon (Paige) Ross, and Samantha Liming; nine  | 
| 11 |  | great-grandchildren; his brothers, Jake Olbrich and Bill  | 
| 12 |  | Olbrich; his sister, Marjorie (Midge) Roach; and his  extended  | 
| 13 |  | family, including foster daughters, Donna (Randy) Hagen and  | 
| 14 |  | their four daughters and six grandchildren, Janet (Larry)  | 
| 15 |  | Hermanson and their two children, and Mary (Kevin) Anderson and  | 
| 16 |  | their two children; therefore, be it
     | 
| 17 |  |     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL  | 
| 18 |  | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of  | 
| 19 |  | John Raymond Olbrich of Claremont, and extend our sincere  | 
| 20 |  | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved  | 
| 21 |  | him; and be it further
