| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  | 
| 3 |  | learn of the death of Ella Mae Currie, who passed away on July  | 
| 4 |  | 23, 2017 at the age of 109; and
     | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, Ella Currie was born in Brownsville, Tennessee to  | 
| 6 |  | Ada (Bond) and Daniel Hess on July 19, 1908; she was raised by  | 
| 7 |  | Drew and Ella Taylor and married William "Bud" Currie on  | 
| 8 |  | December 26, 1929; and
    
   | 
| 9 |  |     WHEREAS, Ella Currie was a member of the Greater Northside  | 
| 10 |  | Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother's Board; and
     | 
| 11 |  |     WHEREAS, Ella Currie was preceded in death by her husband,  | 
| 12 |  | William; her daughters, Eunice Shaw, Marie Emery, Thelma  | 
| 13 |  | Farrington, and Josie Mae Garry; her sons, William Currie Jr.  | 
| 14 |  | and Jesse J. Currie; and her siblings, Chainie, Bessie,  | 
| 15 |  | Beatrice, Vevia, Nannie, Ella, and Daniel Hess; and
     | 
| 16 |  |     WHEREAS, Ella Currie is survived by her daughter, Ernestine  | 
| 17 |  | (Robert) Taylor; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren,  | 
| 18 |  | great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; her  special  | 
| 19 |  | friend, Mary Lou Taylor; and many other relatives and friends;  |
