| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James J. Aitken of Rock Island, who |
| 4 | | passed away on July 8, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James Aitken was born in Rock Island to James C. |
| 6 | | and Ester M. Kratzer Aitken on March 11, 1929; he married Helen |
| 7 | | Mullens in Rock Island on February 4, 1967; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, James Aitken retired from the United States Army |
| 9 | | after 37 years; he served during World War II and the Korean |
| 10 | | War; his second profession was an electronics technician; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Aitken was a member of Edgewood Baptist |
| 12 | | Church in Rock Island and Moline American Legion Post 246; he |
| 13 | | enjoyed working on all things electronic and playing the piano, |
| 14 | | keyboard, and guitar; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, James Aitken was preceded in death by his parents; |
| 16 | | his sisters, Margarete Eckhardt and Agnes Brandle; and his |
| 17 | | daughter-in-law, Florenza McClay; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, James Aitken is survived by his wife, Helen |
| 19 | | Aitken; his children, James Aitken Jr., Russell (Evah) McClay, |
| 20 | | Sheri (Robert) Luckenbihl, Thomas (Mary) Aitken, Victoria |
