SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Marcus J. Whitney of Silvis, who passed 
4away on July 1, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney was born in Moline to Earl and 
6Margaret (Bahmler) Whitney on April 29, 1937; he married Sharon 
7Booth in 1965; he married Linda Donaldson Barr in Silvis in 
81991; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney worked with his father and later 
10with Farm Services; he retired in the early 1990s as a material 
11handler from John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney was a member of the Masonic Lodge; 
13he enjoyed everything Harley Davidson and playing LRC.; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Marcus Whitney is survived by his wife, Linda; his 
15daughters, Dawn (Rob) Anderson and Brenda (Tim) Skaggs; his 
16stepchildren, Aaron Barr and Molly Barr; eight grandchildren; 
17his siblings, Richard (Eileen) Whitney, Marcia Bradley, David 
18(Brenda) Whitney, and Mary Kay Joyce; and his dog, Lula; 
19therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Marcus J. Whitney, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to  the family of  Marcus Whitney as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
