| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Jim Masi of West Dundee, who passed away |
| 4 | | on July 7, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Masi was born in "Old Carpentersville" to |
| 6 | | Philip and Stella (Falese) Masi on November 15, 1930; he |
| 7 | | graduated from Dundee Community High School in 1949 and served |
| 8 | | in the United States Army in Germany with the 1st Infantry |
| 9 | | Division during the Korean War; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, In the early 1950s, Jim Masi worked in the family |
| 11 | | business, Masi's Pizza and Bowling Alley in West Dundee; he |
| 12 | | then began working in real estate with his Uncle Floyd Falese, |
| 13 | | developer of Sleepy Hollow; his career in real estate lasted |
| 14 | | for over 40 years before he retired; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jim Masi was a lifelong member of St. Catherine of |
| 16 | | Siena Church in West Dundee; he was a former member of the |
| 17 | | Dundee Rotary Club, a member of Dundee VFW #2298, and a member |
| 18 | | of Siena Council #8546 Knights of Columbus; he was an excellent |
| 19 | | bowler and participated and placed in many tournaments; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jim Masi was preceded in death by his parents; his |
| 21 | | daughter, Stella Masi; and his brother, Nicholas Masi; and
