| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Christopher R. McFadden of Frankfort, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 29, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Christopher McFadden was born in Joliet to Susan |
| 6 | | and Terry McFadden; he attended Joliet West High School and |
| 7 | | graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1997, where he |
| 8 | | was an editor of the Harvard Crimson newspaper; he earned his |
| 9 | | law degree, cum laude, from the Northwestern University School |
| 10 | | of Law in 2000, where he was on the law review and earned Order |
| 11 | | of the Coif; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Christopher McFadden was a federal district law |
| 13 | | clerk in Montgomery, Alabama; he also clerked on the United |
| 14 | | States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit; he worked as an |
| 15 | | Assistant United States Attorney in San Diego, California and |
| 16 | | Chicago from 2005 to 2016 and never lost a case; while at the |
| 17 | | U.S. Attorney's Office, he was awarded an FBI Commendation, a |
| 18 | | National Crime Victims Certificate of Appreciation, and the |
| 19 | | Chicago Crime Commission Star of Distinction Award; he |
| 20 | | successfully prosecuted 28 cases, including a $600 million |
| 21 | | fraud case and a joint case with the Illinois Department of |
| 22 | | Securities involving $1 billion in funding; he worked at |
| 23 | | Northwestern University School of Law as an adjust lecturer |
