| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Presidential Advisory Commission on Election |
| 3 | | Integrity was purportedly established by executive order to |
| 4 | | investigate vulnerabilities in voting systems and practices |
| 5 | | used for federal elections that could lead to improper voter |
| 6 | | registrations and improper voting, including fraudulent voter |
| 7 | | registrations and fraudulent voting; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, President Donald Trump has consistently |
| 9 | | maintained, without evidence, that three to five million |
| 10 | | illegal votes were cast in the 2016 presidential election for |
| 11 | | the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, President Trump's Advisory Commission on Election |
| 13 | | Integrity has requested the personal data and voting history of |
| 14 | | every American voter; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, It is the duty of the State Board of Elections to |
| 16 | | ensure the integrity of our elections and to protect voting |
| 17 | | rights and the privacy of Illinois voters; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Illinois law allows voter data to be obtained by |
| 19 | | political committees, which use it to develop their voter |
| 20 | | databases, and by governmental agencies for governmental |
| 21 | | purposes; however, Illinois law prohibits release of the more |
