| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Charlene S. Reichert, who passed away on |
| 4 | | February 25, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert was born in Woodstock to Edwin |
| 6 | | F. and Eleanore (Rankin) Reid on May 19, 1948; she attended St. |
| 7 | | Patrick's School and graduated from McHenry Community High |
| 8 | | School in 1966; she married Thomas Reichert at St. Patrick |
| 9 | | Church in McHenry on May 5, 1973; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert worked at The McHenry |
| 11 | | Plaindealer, setting type, and at the McHenry Medical Group, |
| 12 | | transcribing medical dictation; she also worked in clerical and |
| 13 | | administrative positions at Fifth Army Headquarters at Fort |
| 14 | | Sheridan, Great Lakes Naval Training Base in North Chicago, and |
| 15 | | USPFO Camp in San Luis Obispo, California; other than a couple |
| 16 | | of years spent in Texas, she and her family lived in San Diego, |
| 17 | | San Luis Obispo, and Carlsbad, California; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert was a member of the Viscounts |
| 19 | | Drum & Bugle Corps and McHenry American Legion Auxiliary Post |
| 20 | | 491; she was a fabulous cook and loved to entertain family and |
| 21 | | friends in her home; she also loved to travel, visiting nearly |
| 22 | | all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii; her travels also |

| 1 | | took her to England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, Norway, |
| 2 | | Switzerland, Germany, China, Canada, and Mexico; the last three |
| 3 | | years, she was full-time "Meema" to her adorable granddaughter, |
| 4 | | Fiona; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert was preceded in death by her |
| 6 | | parents; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Charlene Reichert is survived by her husband, |
| 8 | | Thomas; her children, Brittany Reichert, Shannon (Josh) Salic, |
| 9 | | and Trae Reichert; her grandchildren, Fiona and Landon; her |
| 10 | | siblings, Bud (Vikee) Reid, Bernadine (Michael) Mould, Ronald |
| 11 | | Reid, Cindy (Reid) Bateman, and Noelle (Terry) Reid-Andrews; |
| 12 | | her foster siblings, Paulo (Daisy) Lopes, Georgia (Evripidis) |
| 13 | | Panagopolou, and Patricia Harris; and many nieces, nephews, |
| 14 | | great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Charlene S. Reichert, and extend our sincere condolences to her |
| 18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 19 | | further
|
| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to the family of Charlene Reichert as an expression |
| 22 | | of our deepest sympathy.
