SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of William H. "Bill" Bruce of McHenry, who 
4passed away on June 4, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Bruce was born in Cicero to William J. and 
6Henrietta (Fell) Bruce on April 29, 1931; he married Judith 
7Wevik-Lindwall on April 14, 1983; he served in the United 
8States Navy as a Seabee during the Korean War; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, William Bruce co-owned Riveria Yacht Basin for 
10over 30 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, William Bruce loved woodworking and making 
12beautiful keepsakes; he enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening, 
13traveling, and NASCAR; he will be remembered for being a great 
14storyteller and will be greatly missed by all who knew him; and

  
 
15    WHEREAS, William Bruce was preceded in death by his 
16parents, and his son, Bill Bruce Jr.; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, William Bruce is survived by his loving wife, 
18Judith; his children, Cindy Kennedy, Becky (David) Olds, Karl 
19(Christine) Lindwall, and Neil (Marcie) Lindwall; his 
20grandchildren, Lucas, Echo, Katelyn, Jory, Aaron, and Kaitlyn;

1his many great-grandchildren;  and his siblings, Irene Horn and 
2Kenneth Bruce; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5William H. "Bill" Bruce, and extend our sincere condolences to 
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of William Bruce as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
