| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Brian Scott Anderson of Rockford, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 19, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Brian Anderson was born in Rockford to Gene and |
| 6 | | Gina Anderson on March 8, 1954; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Brian Anderson owned the Anderson Automotive |
| 8 | | Group of Rockford and Loves Park; he started in the automotive |
| 9 | | business with his father, Gene Anderson, in 1970 in Loves Park |
| 10 | | with the Datsun-Saab franchise, which later became Nissan and |
| 11 | | Mazda; they added the Dodge and Toyota franchises in 1989; he |
| 12 | | retired in the early 1990s and went on to build one of the |
| 13 | | largest auto groups in Northern Illinois with 12 new car |
| 14 | | franchises and five locations in Rockford and Loves Park; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Brian Anderson's favorite pastime was competing |
| 16 | | in skeet tournaments across the United States; he won numerous |
| 17 | | awards, including Arizona State Champion in 2016 and 2017, and |
| 18 | | several placements at the world skeet championships; he was |
| 19 | | also a skeet coach and mentored many young athletes; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Brian Anderson was always willing to support |
| 21 | | community projects and charitable organizations, many times |
