SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Donald Lee Carson of Rock Island, who 
4passed away on June 7, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Carson was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to 
6George and Helen Hartkemeyer Carson on June 8, 1937; he served 
7in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman for four years 
8and married Marlo Sellers in Morrison on January 7, 1960; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Carson was employed by John Deere Plow & 
10Planter Works for 25 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1991; 
11he then worked as a contractor at various John Deere facilities 
12for 10 years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Donald Carson was a member of the Marine Corps 
14League; he  loved American history, reading, and was an avid fan 
15of the Chicago Cubs and wrestling; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Donald Carson is survived by his wife, Marlo; his 
17children and spouses, Cary and Celeste Carson, Aaron Carson, 
18Andrea Spainhower, and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Adam and Deana Carson; 
19eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his 
20brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Mary Carson and Jim and 
21Susan Carson; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Donald Lee Carson, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Donald Carson as an expression of 
8our deepest sympathy.
