| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Mozell "Buggie" Brown Jr., who passed |
| 4 | | away at the age of 53; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mozell Brown was born in Chicago to Mozell Sr. and |
| 6 | | Iona Brown on December 7, 1963; he was the eighth child in his |
| 7 | | family and was often referred to as "knee baby"; he attended |
| 8 | | Corliss High School, where he was an enthusiastic athlete and |
| 9 | | received many achievements and awards for his talents in |
| 10 | | baseball and football; he graduated top of his class with a |
| 11 | | bachelor's degree in business administration from Prairie View |
| 12 | | A&M University in Texas; he enrolled in Cain's Barber College |
| 13 | | in Chicago to pursue his passion for cutting hair and was given |
| 14 | | the opportunity to master his skills at Tiger Master Design; he |
| 15 | | married April Ester on August 9, 1992; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mozell Brown opened Jr's Barber Shop in Dolton; he |
| 17 | | then embarked on another journey, opening the first of his four |
| 18 | | Harold's Chicken Shacks in 2001; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Mozell Brown touched the lives of many through his |
| 20 | | mentorship, loving spirit, infectious smile, and unselfish |
| 21 | | heart; he possessed all the qualities of a devoted husband, |
| 22 | | providing father, and supporting friend; he loved spending time |
