| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert C. Crawford of St. Charles, who |
| 4 | | passed away on June 3, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Crawford was born in Chicago to Elmer and |
| 6 | | Winifred Crawford on February 4, 1933; he enlisted in the |
| 7 | | United States Army in 1951 as a Private-1 and served in the |
| 8 | | Korean War; he received the Korean War Service Medal, the Army |
| 9 | | of Occupation Medal-Japan, and the United Nations Service Medal |
| 10 | | for National Defense; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Robert Crawford worked as a tool and die maker, a |
| 12 | | baker, and finally, a highly skilled machinist; he enjoyed 41 |
| 13 | | years of employment at Dunlee/Philips, where he proudly |
| 14 | | received his first patent in 1994 and multiple awards of |
| 15 | | excellence throughout his career; he retired in 2002 from the |
| 16 | | Aurora location; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Crawford was a man of many talents and |
| 18 | | hobbies from scuba diving to photography, leather carving to |
| 19 | | archery; his greatest loves, were fishing, horseback riding, |
| 20 | | and woodworking; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Robert Crawford was preceded in death by his |
