SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Joan L. Severt of Lockport, who passed 
4away on May 29, 2017 at the age of 84; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joan Severt was born in Chicago to Lester and 
6Leona (Overland) Shephard; and

  
 
7    WHEREAS, Joan Severt was a loving wife, mother, and 
8grandmother; she loved working in her garden and taking care of 
9her flowers; her greatest joy in life was spending time with 
10her family; and

  
 
11    WHEREAS, Joan Severt was preceded in death by her husband, 
12Richard, and her parents; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Joan Severt is survived by her loving children, 
14Vicky (Raymond) Soliman and Scott (Dawn) Severt; her 
15grandchildren, Stephanie (Guy) Walters, Emily (John) Morris, 
16and Alexander Severt; her sisters, Jerilynn (John) Shimkus and 
17Robin Howard; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
20Joan L. Severt, and extend our sincere condolences to her

1family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
2further
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Joan Severt as an expression of our
