| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  | 
| 3 |  | learn of the death of Sharon Robbins, who passed away on April  | 
| 4 |  | 4, 2017 at the age of 93; and
     | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins  served as co-chair of the  | 
| 6 |  | Northshore Panel of American Women from 1967 to 1970 which was  | 
| 7 |  | designed to confront historically difficult issues on race,  | 
| 8 |  | religion, and gender, and to open a positive dialogue amongst  | 
| 9 |  | all people; she maintained her friendship and devotion to her  | 
| 10 |  | fellow panelists and the fight for civil rights for over 50  | 
| 11 |  | years; she was named the 2012 Volunteer of the Year by Glenkirk  | 
| 12 |  | for her work with the developmentally disabled; and
     | 
| 13 |  |     WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins took up painting in the last five  | 
| 14 |  | years of her life; and   | 
| 15 |  |     WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins was preceded in death by her  | 
| 16 |  | husband of 50 years,  Dr. Fred Robbins; and
     | 
| 17 |  |     WHEREAS, Sharon Robbins is survived by her children, Bruce  | 
| 18 |  | (Shelley), Mark (Chris), and Joni (Marc) Mirsky; her  | 
| 19 |  | grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Hitchell, Mathew Robbins, Erin  | 
| 20 |  | (Jeffrey) Robbins, Jeffrey, Zachary, and Alexandra Mirsky, and  | 
| 21 |  | Brian Lueders; her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Lucas, Emmett,  |
