SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Mark Stephen DeVer of Alton, who passed 
4away on April 16, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark DeVer was born in Hillsboro to Helen Eileen 
6(Ruppe) and Ronald James DeVer; he served his country in the 
7United States Air Force from 1968 to 1969, and was honorably 
8discharged from the Air Force Reserve in 1970; he married 
9Jeannine Kelly-DeVer on January 2, 1999; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Mark DeVer was instrumental in the formation of 
11Metro Supply & Equipment Co. in the 1970s and continued to 
12successfully run that company for over 40 years; he was also 
13co-owner of Danmar Enterprises, Inc., a real estate investment 
14company that focuses on restoring and rehabilitating historic 
15properties in Alton; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, Mark DeVer enjoyed music, especially gospel music 
17of the Cathedrals, the Gaithers, and the Plainsmen Quartet; he 
18loved to play golf, watch the St. Louis Cardinals, and his 
19dogs, Sophie and Sabrina, but most of all he  loved spending 
20time with his wife, taking drives, shopping, working on 
21projects, and staying at their home in Louisiana, Missouri; he 
22was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills and

1Trinity Lutheran Church in Louisiana, Missouri; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mark DeVer was preceded in death by his father, 
3Ronald DeVer; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Mark DeVer is survived by his wife of nearly 20 
5years, Jeannine; his mother, Helen DeVer; his mother-in-law, 
6Tommie Myers; his son, Derrick DeVer; his siblings, Trent (Kim) 
7DeVer, Renee (David) Hardwick, Jeff (Susan) Padgett, Desiree 
8(Danny) Burke, and Dawn Jacobs; his brothers-in-law, John 
9(Robin) and Michael Kelly; 20 nieces and nephews; 10 
10great-nieces and nephews; Sabrina, the beloved family dog; and 
11numerous friends and relatives; therefore, be it
  
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
14Mark Stephen DeVer, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
16further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to  the family of  Mark DeVer as an expression of our 
19deepest sympathy.
