| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Mark Stephen DeVer of Alton, who passed |
| 4 | | away on April 16, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark DeVer was born in Hillsboro to Helen Eileen |
| 6 | | (Ruppe) and Ronald James DeVer; he served his country in the |
| 7 | | United States Air Force from 1968 to 1969, and was honorably |
| 8 | | discharged from the Air Force Reserve in 1970; he married |
| 9 | | Jeannine Kelly-DeVer on January 2, 1999; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Mark DeVer was instrumental in the formation of |
| 11 | | Metro Supply & Equipment Co. in the 1970s and continued to |
| 12 | | successfully run that company for over 40 years; he was also |
| 13 | | co-owner of Danmar Enterprises, Inc., a real estate investment |
| 14 | | company that focuses on restoring and rehabilitating historic |
| 15 | | properties in Alton; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Mark DeVer enjoyed music, especially gospel music |
| 17 | | of the Cathedrals, the Gaithers, and the Plainsmen Quartet; he |
| 18 | | loved to play golf, watch the St. Louis Cardinals, and his |
| 19 | | dogs, Sophie and Sabrina, but most of all he loved spending |
| 20 | | time with his wife, taking drives, shopping, working on |
| 21 | | projects, and staying at their home in Louisiana, Missouri; he |
| 22 | | was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills and |
