| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Donald E. Swanson Jr. of East Moline, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 3, 2017; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Swanson was born in Moline to Donald E. Sr. |
| 6 | | and Evelyn Renner Swanson on November 8, 1945; he graduated |
| 7 | | from Moline High School in 1963 and was a member of the |
| 8 | | baseball team; he attended the University of Illinois where he |
| 9 | | earned his degree in accounting; he served in the United States |
| 10 | | Army Reserve and married Marcia Hoaglund in Rock Island on |
| 11 | | September 10, 1966; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Donald Swanson was an accountant and later was in |
| 13 | | automobile sales at Green Chrysler and Courtesy Nissan; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Donald Swanson was active with his church, serving |
| 15 | | in various offices and as a deacon and elder; he was a member |
| 16 | | of the Moline Elks and the Moline Jaycees; he was a coach in |
| 17 | | the East Moline Youth Baseball/Softball organization; he loved |
| 18 | | gardening, reading, and was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs |
| 19 | | and die-hard Illini fan; most of all he enjoyed attending his |
| 20 | | grandsons' activities, they were the light of his life; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Donald Swanson was preceded in death by his |
