SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ralph Frank Heaven Sr., who passed away on February 4, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Heaven Sr. was born in Waukegan to Cecil "Tom" and Dorothy Heaven on April 10, 1935; he married Helen (Coon) Heaven on April 21, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Heaven Sr. started his career in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning working with his father in their family business, Heaven and Son Heating; he continued his HVAC career working at the Sheraton Inn for 25 years; he worked another 25 years in the Maintenance Department at Six Flags Great America; he also tended bar at the Moose Lodge, the Sheraton Inn, and Green Brier Restaurant; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Heaven Sr. was a volunteer fireman in his younger years and he was a lifetime Legionnaire member of the Loyal Order of the Moose; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Heaven Sr. and his wife, Margaret, shared a love for traveling including spending their winters in Florida; he also loved cheering on the Chicago Cubs; and

WHEREAS, Ralph Heaven Sr. is survived by his daughters, Laura (Kermit) Heaven-Ewell, and Lisa (Joseph) Heaven-Baum; his sons, Ralph (Jill) Heaven Jr., Michael (Cynthia) Heaven, and Andrew (Deedee) Heaven; his grandchildren, Rachel, Amanda, Christine, Geoffrey, Alyssa, Jonathan, Justin, Alyssalynn, and Andrew; his great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Avery, Penelope, Chelsilynn, and Michael; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ralph Heaven Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ralph Heaven Sr. as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
