| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Edward M. Jekot M.D., who passed away on |
| 4 | | February 18, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Jekot was born in Chicago to Michael and Mary |
| 6 | | Jekot on April 8, 1928; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Jekot was a veteran of the United States Army, |
| 8 | | assigned to APO 729 in Shemya, Alaska; he graduated from St. |
| 9 | | Mel High School, from Loyola University with a Bachelor of |
| 10 | | Science, and from the University of Illinois Medical School; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Jekot was a general practitioner and later a |
| 13 | | family medicine specialist on staff at St. Joseph Hospital in |
| 14 | | Chicago for over 50 years; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Jekot was preceded in death by his beloved |
| 16 | | wife, Patricia Anne; his parents; and his brothers, Stanley and |
| 17 | | Chester; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Jekot was the cherished father of Michael, CFD |
