SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Gary R. Martin of Harvard, who passed 
4away at the age of 76; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Martin was born to Ernest P. and Mildred R. 
6(Hall) Martin on September 21, 1940; he married Dolores 
7Erckfirtz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvard on May 28, 
81960; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Gary Martin was a lifelong dairy farmer; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, In his younger years, Gary Martin loved playing 
11softball and other sports; during the holidays, he  could be 
12found playing a game of barn ball with his family after their 
13meals; he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and 
14other extracurricular activities; he was on the McHenry County 
15Fair Board and a member of the Woodstock Progressives; he 
16enjoyed having coffee with his friends at the Town and Country 
17Restaurant; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Gary Martin was preceded in death by his wife, 
19Dolores; his parents;  and his sister, Janice Ebel; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Gary Martin is survived by his children, Deborah

1(Mike) Lowry, Jeffrey (Penny) Martin, Gerald (June) Martin, 
2James Martin, and Christina (Kevin) Blake; his grandchildren, 
3Sarah, Faith, and Laura Lowry, Angela and Ryan Martin, Renee 
4and Hanna Martin, Caroline and Benedicte Martin, and Casandra 
5and Kobe Blake; his close family friends, Michelle Meyers, and 
6Charlotte Fage Flug; and his siblings, Judy (Richard) Koch, 
7David Martin, and Mike (Penny) Martin; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
10Gary R. Martin, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
12further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to  the family of  Gary Martin as an expression of our 
15deepest sympathy.
