| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of James Frederick May of Richmond, who |
| 4 | | passed away on February 28, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, James May was born in Spring Grove to Fred and |
| 6 | | Evelyn (Deinlein) May on July 8, 1935; after attending Grant |
| 7 | | High School, he joined the United States Air Force and served |
| 8 | | as an Airman Second Class with the 420th Air Refueling Squadron |
| 9 | | from 1954 to 1957; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, James May worked as a machinist at Union Special, |
| 11 | | Signode, and ITW for many years, retiring in 2000; he was a |
| 12 | | member of Paul C. Hoffman American Legion Post #253 in Richmond |
| 13 | | and the Woodstock Moose; he loved bowling, reading, movies, and |
| 14 | | had an extensive music collection; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, James May was preceded in death by his parents and |
| 16 | | three nephews; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James May is survived by two sisters, Janet May |
| 18 | | and Elizabeth Tesch; three brothers, Peter May, Roger May, and |
| 19 | | William (Marlene) May; and numerous nieces and nephews and |
| 20 | | their families; therefore, be it
