| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are sadden to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Cynthia R. Harris of McHenry, who passed |
| 4 | | away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the age of 68; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris was born in Waukegan to the late |
| 6 | | Earl Schultz and Gloria Obenauf on June 27, 1948; she married |
| 7 | | Richard Harris in McHenry on August 17, 1968; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris spent 11 years as a 4-H member, and |
| 9 | | dedicated 30 more years to being a 4-H Club Leader and 4-H |
| 10 | | Community Worker in McHenry County; she volunteered as a |
| 11 | | parent, grandparent, community club leader, and chaperone to |
| 12 | | almost every possible 4-H event, from country, regional, and |
| 13 | | state levels; her passion was working with 4-H members and |
| 14 | | watching them develop the life skills they learn in 4-H; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Cynthia Harris embodied the spirit of "making the |
| 16 | | best better!"; she was an active member of the First United |
| 17 | | Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, serving on many committees, |
| 18 | | was a Sunday School teacher, as well as the wedding |
| 19 | | coordinator; she was an avid gardener, sewer, quilter, and she |
| 20 | | loved cooking and trying new recipes; she loved spending time |
| 21 | | with her family, especially her grandchildren, coaching them in |
| 22 | | their needed life skills; and
