| 1 | | AN ACT concerning health.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 5 | | Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 | | amended by adding Section 2310-341 as follows:

| 7 | | (20 ILCS 2310/2310-341 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2310-341. Bone marrow registry inquiry; information. |
| 9 | | Because information about bone marrow donation and |
| 10 | | registration, such as "Be the Match", is important to encourage |
| 11 | | donations, the Department shall develop and disseminate |
| 12 | | information regarding a bone marrow registry, including, but |
| 13 | | not limited to, the following: |
| 14 | | (1) the need for bone marrow donations; |
| 15 | | (2) patient populations that would benefit from bone |
| 16 | | marrow donations; |
| 17 | | (3) how to join a bone marrow registry; and |
| 18 | | (4) how to acquire a free buccal swab kit from a bone |
| 19 | | marrow registry. |
| 20 | | The information under this Section may be disseminated in |
| 21 | | print, electronically, or in any other manner determined by the |
| 22 | | Department.
