| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Income Tax Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 507III as follows: |
| 6 | | (35 ILCS 5/507III new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 507III. Hunger Relief Fund checkoff. For taxable years |
| 8 | | ending on or after December 31, 2018, the Department must print |
| 9 | | on its standard individual income tax form a provision (i) |
| 10 | | indicating that if the taxpayer wishes to contribute to the |
| 11 | | Hunger Relief Fund, as authorized by this amendatory Act of the |
| 12 | | 100th General Assembly, he or she may do so by stating the |
| 13 | | amount of the contribution (not less than $1) on the return and |
| 14 | | (ii) stating that the contribution will reduce the taxpayer's |
| 15 | | refund or increase the amount of payment to accompany the |
| 16 | | return. Failure to remit any amount of increased payment shall |
| 17 | | reduce the contribution accordingly. This Section does not |
| 18 | | apply to any amended return.
