AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2742




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2742 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. Property.  The State of Illinois owns the 
5following real property, commonly known as the Galesburg Animal 
6Disease Laboratory at the mailing address 2100 S Lake Storey 
7Rd, Galesburg, Illinois 61401, described as follows:
 
8    Lot 1, Galesburg Laboratory Subdivision, being a 
9    Subdivision of part of Lot 11 in the Resubdivision of the 
10    East Half of Section 32, Township 12 North, Range 1 East of 
11    the Fourth Principal Meridian, Knox County, Illinois, as 
12    per plat recorded in Volume 26 of Plats, page 77; and 
13    subject to easements, rights-of-way and to covenants, 
14    reservations, restrictions and undertakings of record; and 
15    together with the tenements and appurtenances thereto 
16    belonging;

2    Section 10. Conveyance.
 
3    (a) Upon the payment of the sum of $1 to the State of 
4Illinois, and subject to the conditions set forth in subsection 
5(b), the Director of Agriculture, on behalf of the State of 
6Illinois and the Department of Agriculture, shall convey by 
7quitclaim deed all right, title, and interest of the State of 
8Illinois and the Department of Agriculture in and to the real 
9property described in Section 5 to the City of Galesburg, 
10Illinois.
11    (b) The quitclaim deed to the City of Galesburg, Illinois 
12shall state on its face and be subject to the conditions that 
13the real property shall be used by the City of Galesburg for a 
14public purpose and that if the City of Galesburg ceases to 
15exist or if the real property is used for any purposes other 
16than a public purpose, then title shall revert without further 
17action to the State of Illinois.

 
18    Section 15. Recording. The Director of Agriculture shall 
19prepare one or more quitclaim deeds to convey the real 
20property. The Director may also record a certified copy of this 
21Act. Each quitclaim deed shall reference this Act and contain 
22the reversionary language from subsection (b) of Section 10. 
23All documents of conveyance shall be recorded in the county in

1which the land is located.
 

2    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
3becoming law.".
