| 1 | | AN ACT concerning education.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by renumbering and |
| 5 | | changing Section 10-20.60, as added by Public Act 100-133, as |
| 6 | | follows:

| 8 | | Sec. 10-20.62 10-20.60. Dual enrollment and dual credit |
| 9 | | notification. |
| 10 | | (a) In this Section, "dual credit course" has the meaning |
| 11 | | ascribed to that term in the Dual Credit Quality Act. |
| 12 | | (b) A qualified student shall be allowed to enroll in an |
| 13 | | unlimited amount of dual credit courses and earn an unlimited |
| 14 | | amount of academic credits from dual credit courses if the |
| 15 | | courses are taught by an Illinois instructor, as provided under |
| 16 | | the Dual Credit Quality Act. |
| 17 | | (c) A school board shall require the school district's high |
| 18 | | schools, if any, to inform all 11th and 12th grade students of |
| 19 | | dual enrollment and dual credit opportunities at public |
| 20 | | community colleges for qualified students.
