| 4 | | "Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 9-133 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 9-133. Striping. Upon determining that centerline |
| 8 | | striping or edge line striping of a highway where striping did |
| 9 | | not previously exist is necessary for the safety and welfare of |
| 10 | | highway users and the public, the highway authority of that |
| 11 | | highway may, with the approval of the Department, utilize |
| 12 | | Highway Safety Improvement Program funds, in accordance with |
| 13 | | State and federal rules and regulations, to conduct the |
| 14 | | striping.
