AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2032




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2032 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Notice By Publication Act is amended  by 
5adding Section 2.2 as follows:
 
6    (715 ILCS 5/2.2 new)
7    Sec. 2.2. Publication  by internet posting. Notwithstanding 
8any other provision of law:
9        (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this Section, any 
10    requirement for a school district or a unit of local 
11    government to publish any notice, agenda, or other 
12    information or material in a newspaper by law, including, 
13    but not limited to, the Open Meetings Act, the Illinois 
14    Municipal Budget Law, the Intergovernmental Cooperation 
15    Act, the Counties Code, the Township Code, the Illinois 
16    Municipal Code, the Election Code, the School Code, the

1    Airport Authorities Act, or the Civic Center Code, may 
2    instead publish the notice, agenda, or other information on 
3    its website or on data.illinois.gov or any successor 
4    website to data.illinois.gov maintained by, or on behalf 
5    of, the State of Illinois.
6        (2) Before January 1, 2021, a school district or unit 
7    of local government that publishes any notice, agenda, or 
8    other information or material on its website or 
9    data.illinois.gov as provided for in this Section shall 
10    also post a notice in the newspaper or newspapers where the 
11    notice, agenda, or other information or material would 
12    otherwise have been required to be posted absent the 
13    provisions of this Section. The notice in the newspaper or 
14    newspapers shall provide the website address where the full 
15    notice, agenda, or other information or material may be 
16    found.
 
17    Section 10. The Newspaper Legal Notice Act is amended  by 
18adding Section 2.5 as follows:
 
19    (715 ILCS 10/2.5 new)
20    Sec. 2.5. Publication by internet posting. Notwithstanding 
21any other provision of law:
22        (1) Subject to paragraph (2) of this Section, any 
23    requirement for a school district or a unit of local
