| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Public Library District Act of 1991 is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 1-10 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (75 ILCS 16/1-10)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 1-10. Establishment of districts and libraries. To |
| 8 | | provide local public institutions of general education
for |
| 9 | | citizens of Illinois, library districts and
and libraries may |
| 10 | | be
established, equipped, and maintained by the board pursuant |
| 11 | | to this
Act. That library shall be forever for the use of the |
| 12 | | residents and taxpayers
of the district in which it is located, |
| 13 | | subject to reasonable rules and
regulations the board adopts to |
| 14 | | render the use of the library of the greatest
benefit to the |
| 15 | | greatest number of those residents and taxpayers. |
