| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John J. |
| 4 | | "Jack" Lanigan Sr., who passed away on December 2, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Lanigan was born on February 27, 1927; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, John Lanigan founded Mi-Jack Products from his |
| 7 | | home in a south suburb of Chicago in 1954; over time, Mi-Jack |
| 8 | | became a multinational corporation providing machinery and |
| 9 | | solutions for the transportation and material handling |
| 10 | | industries worldwide; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Early on, Mi-Jack distributed self-propelled |
| 12 | | rubber tired gantry cranes and focused on the railroads and |
| 13 | | ports of the United States; in the early 1980s, Mi-Jack |
| 14 | | purchased the manufacturing rights to the cranes it had been |
| 15 | | selling, which helped open up new national and international |
| 16 | | markets; today, Mi-Jack is recognized worldwide as an industry |
| 17 | | leader and innovator; corporate headquarters remain in Hazel |
| 18 | | Crest; in addition, the company maintains four regional |
| 19 | | operations headquarters, five sales offices, and over 60 |
| 20 | | intermodal terminals; and
