| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Robert |
| 4 | | "Bob" Burress on November 10, 2018; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Burress was born in Corinth Mississippi on |
| 6 | | March 19, 1941; he was a graduate of the University of Illinois |
| 7 | | at Springfield with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and |
| 8 | | Social Science; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bob Burress was a dedicated public servant; he |
| 10 | | worked as a police office for over 27 years, moving up the |
| 11 | | ranks from detective to sergeant, and finally, chief of police |
| 12 | | in Pekin; he retired from law enforcement in 1995 and stayed |
| 13 | | active in his community; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Bob Burress served on the Tazewell
County 911 |
| 15 | | Board and the Tazewell County Board of Review; he also served |
| 16 | | as the Cincinnati Township Assessor and on the Pekin Police |
| 17 | | Pension Fund Board; he was a founding
member and director of |
| 18 | | the Illinois Public Pension Fund Association; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bob Burress believed in community service and |
| 20 | | helping others; he was a member of the Pekin Moose Family |
| 21 | | Center 916 and Pekin AMBUCS; he attended Pekin First Church of |
