HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Ken and Carol Unes on the 
4occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth James Unes was working as a letter carrier 
6for the United States Postal Service and  serving as  a member of 
7the United States Army Reserve when he met Carol Ann Bonucchi 
8in September of 1966; Carol was studying to become a registered 
9nurse at the Saint Francis School of Nursing; they were married 
10at the Sacred Heart Church in Granville on October 26, 1968; 
11they had three children, Gregory Anthony Unes, Philip Anthony 
12Unes, and Cynthia Ann Unes-Carter and eight grandchildren, 
13Morgan Nicole Anderson, Grant Anthony Anderson,
Philip James 
14Unes Jr.,
Abigail Elizabeth Unes,
Alexander Anthony Unes,

15Brendan Anthony Unes,
Anthony Matthew Unes, and
Isabella Ann 
16Unes; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Ken Unes worked as a letter carrier for over 33 
18years; he retired from the United States Postal Service in 1992 
19and  began working as a bailiff at the Peoria County Courthouse, 
20where he still works after over 25 years; he also worked as a 
21bus driver for Peoria Charter Coach from 1993 to 2016; and
  
 
22    WHEREAS, Carol Unes worked as an operating room nurse at

1OSF Saint Francis Medical Center from 1967 until 2014; she also 
2spent 17 years traveling around the State of Illinois for the 
3American Red Cross performing tissue procurement for tissue 
4donors; upon retirement,  she worked for three years as an 
5operating room nurse at the Great Plains Orthopedics Ambulatory 
6Surgery Center; and
  
 
  
7    WHEREAS, Ken and Carol Unes renewed their vows for their 
850th wedding anniversary at the St. Monica Church in East 
9Peoria and celebrated their long union with family and friends 
10at the Itoo Society in Peoria on Saturday October 27th 2018; 
11therefore, be it
  
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
13HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
14congratulate Ken and Carol Unes on their 50th wedding 
15anniversary, and we wish them many more wonderful years; and be 
16it further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to Ken and Carol Unes as a symbol of our respect and 
19esteem.
