HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Nick Soto of Brookfield on 
4achieving the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of 
5America; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Nick Soto is a member of Troop 111 at St. Louise 
7de Marillac in LaGrange Park; he has been a scout since 2006 
8and previously had been a member of Troop 59 at St. Barbara 
9Parish; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, For his Eagle Scout project, Nick Soto worked with 
11the Forest Preserve District of Cook County and led several 
12other scouts in building eight fish habitats that were 
13submerged in Bull Frog Lake in Willow Springs; the scouts also 
14cleaned up trash from the woods as part of the project; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Nick Soto received an award for meritorious action 
16from the Boy Scouts of America for performing the Heimlich 
17maneuver and saving the life of another scout who was choking; 
18he is also a member of the Boy Scouts of America Venture Crew 
19126; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Nick Soto is a  graduate of Lyons Township High 
21School; he is a member of  Addison Fire Protection District

1Explorer Post 343 and hopes to become a firefighter/paramedic; 
2he is already a certified emergency medical technician; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Nick Soto will be elevated to the rank of Eagle 
4Scout at a ceremony on November 18, 2018  in the St. Barbara 
5Parish Center in Brookfield; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8congratulate Nick Soto on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, 
9and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Nick Soto as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
