come to light with a |

| 5 | | WHEREAS, The concerns regarding sexual harassment in |
| 6 | | Illinois politics came to the forefront
following a letter |
| 7 | | signed by over 150 men and women that detailed sexual |
| 8 | | harassment over the
years; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Legislation began moving through the Illinois |
| 10 | | Legislature that prohibited sexual
harassment, increased |
| 11 | | requirements in personnel policies, required mandatory |
| 12 | | training, and
required local governments to have sexual |
| 13 | | harassment policies; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, This culture is not limited to state government; |
| 15 | | Cook County Board President Toni
Preckwinkle learned in March |
| 16 | | of 2018 that her chief of staff had been behaving |
| 17 | | inappropriately
towards women; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Toni Preckwinkle took no action until September of |
| 19 | | 2018 when she fired her chief
of staff, alleging that she |
| 20 | | learned of the allegations only a few days before; and
