| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Brad Vinyard on earning a |
| 4 | | bronze medal at the World's Strongest Disabled Man competition |
| 5 | | in Norway on September 8, 2018; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, 22 years ago, Brad Vinyard, a three-sport senior |
| 7 | | athlete at Harrisburg High School was diagnosed with |
| 8 | | osteosarcoma; this led to a knee replacement and then a leg |
| 9 | | amputation; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Brad Vinyard did not let his diagnosis or his |
| 11 | | disability slow him down and maintained a continued dedication |
| 12 | | to competitive sports; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Brad Vinyard's reasons for competing have never |
| 14 | | been about trophies, medals, or awards; he desires to motivate |
| 15 | | those who might be struggling with a difficulty in their lives; |
| 16 | | and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, After a few weeks to recover, Brad Vinyard will be |
| 18 | | back in the gym prepping for his next event; therefore, be it
