| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Adrian Guerrero on the |
| 4 | | occasion of his promotion to the position of Senior Director of |
| 5 | | Network Development for the Western Region of the Union Pacific |
| 6 | | Railroad, the first Latino to hold this position; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Adrian Guerrero earned his Bachelor of Arts from |
| 8 | | DePaul University in 2004 and his Juris Doctorate from the |
| 9 | | Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2009; he was admitted to the |
| 10 | | Illinois Bar in 2010; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Adrian Guerrero has served as a public affairs |
| 12 | | professional for over 13 years with experience in public |
| 13 | | affairs management, legislative advocacy, and public-private |
| 14 | | projects in the public and private sectors; prior to his |
| 15 | | promotion, he served as the Director of Public Affairs for the |
| 16 | | Union Pacific Railroad, where he directed strategic external |
| 17 | | communications, public and government affairs, community |
| 18 | | relations, and corporate philanthropy in the States of Illinois |
| 19 | | and Wisconsin on behalf of North America's largest freight |
| 20 | | railroad; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Prior to his work for the Union Pacific, Adrian |
| 22 | | Guerrero served as Assistant Commissioner of Governmental |
|

| 1 | | Affairs for the Chicago Department of Aviation, where he |
| 2 | | managed and directed the department's state and local lobbying |
| 3 | | agendas, proposed and developed strategies and responses to |
| 4 | | legislation and regulatory initiatives, and coordinated and |
| 5 | | managed grant agreements for capital funding; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Prior to his work for the Chicago Department of |
| 7 | | Aviation, Adrian Guerrero cultivated his public affairs career |
| 8 | | in the Office of the Mayor, where he communicated the Mayor's |
| 9 | | agenda to the Chicago City Council and other officials, the |
| 10 | | Chicago Park District, where he promoted the district's |
| 11 | | priorities across federal, state, and local government, and the |
| 12 | | Illinois State Senate President's Office, where he researched |
| 13 | | and analyzed legislation and organized committee hearings; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Adrian Guerrero serves as the Chairman of the |
| 15 | | Illinois Railroad Association and is the first Latino to serve |
| 16 | | in this position; he is a Co-Chair of the CREATE Advocacy |
| 17 | | Committee, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning's |
| 18 | | Freight Committee, and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce's |
| 19 | | Council on Logistics and Transportation; he is a member of the |
| 20 | | boards of the Will County Center for Economic Development, the |
| 21 | | Illinois Brownfields Redevelopment & Intermodal Promotion Act, |
| 22 | | the Metropolitan Planning Council's Freight and Regional |
| 23 | | Planning & Investment Committees, the Catholic Charities of the |
| 24 | | Archdiocese of Chicago, and the President's Leadership Council |

| 1 | | of Loyola Academy; and
|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Adrian Guerrero was granted the Community |
| 3 | | Leadership Award by Centro Romero in June of 2016 and the Most |
| 4 | | Valuable Partner Award by Urban Initiatives in June of 2018; |
| 5 | | and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Adrian Guerrero possesses a pleasant and |
| 7 | | compassionate demeanor which will be deeply missed and |
| 8 | | difficult to replace; therefore, be it

| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 10 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 11 | | congratulate Adrian Guerrero on his promotion and we wish him |
| 12 | | continued success and happiness in the future; and be it |
| 13 | | further
