HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the DuPage County Medical 
4Society on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society works to advance 
6quality healthcare delivery, to improve access to care, to 
7promote education and professional collaboration among 
8physicians, to foster improved physician-patient relations, 
9and to enhance public health; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society's proud history 
11includes spearheading the county's polio vaccination program, 
12originating proposals that ultimately led to banning smoking on 
13airplanes and in other public areas, and supporting the DuPage 
14Medical Society Foundation, which has awarded nearly half a 
15million dollars in scholarship grants to area students pursuing 
16careers in healthcare; and
  
 

  
17    WHEREAS, The DuPage County Medical Society will celebrate 
18its Centennial with an anniversary party with the theme 
19"Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future" in Wheaton on October 
2010, 2018 and looks forward to continuing to improve healthcare 
21in DuPage County and the State; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate the DuPage County Medical Society on its 
4centenary, and we commend its members for their dedication to 
5public service; we wish the Society another century of uniting 
6physicians, empowering patients, and supporting quality 
7healthcare; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the DuPage County Medical Society as an expression 
10of our esteem and respect.
