HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Jim Cristman on the occasion of his retirement as Vice President of Refining for CITGO; and

WHEREAS, Jim Cristman started at the Lemont Refinery in 1980 and is retiring after 38 years of service and the operation of the facility by three different companies; and

WHEREAS, Jim Cristman began working for the Union Oil Company of California as a process operator; he was promoted to management as a shift supervisor in 1984 and then to unit supervisor in hydrotreating in 1988; over the next 20 years, he held positions as training manager, area manager, operations manager, and general manager of operations and maintenance; in 2008, he became the Vice President and General Manager of the Lemont Refinery; he has served as the Vice President of Refining for CITGO since late in 2017; and

WHEREAS, Jim Cristman has served on a variety of local business committees including the executive committee of the Three Rivers Manufacturers' Association, where he was chairman for two terms; he was also a member of the American Petroleum Institute's Operating Practices Committee from 2010 to 2018; he has supported the Muscular Dystrophy Association which has led to the development of many new initiatives and has helped the local chapter achieve multiple fundraising records; and

WHEREAS, Jim Cristman and his wife, Cheryl, live in Downers Grove and are the parents of four adult children; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jim Cristman on his retirement as Vice President of Refining for CITGO, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jim Cristman as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
