| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives
are saddened to learn of the passing of Bradley |
| 4 | | H. Veerman, a
devoted public servant and esteemed member of the |
| 5 | | community who
embodied the truest and most valiant virtues of a |
| 6 | | champion of
public safety; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was born in Joliet to June |
| 8 | | (Bailey)
and Arthur H. Veerman Jr. on October 6, 1963; at the |
| 9 | | age of 16, he started his
career with Kurtz Ambulance; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Prior to his passing, Bradley Veerman was the
|
| 11 | | current Executive Director of the Laraway 9-1-1 Communications
|
| 12 | | Center and a Will County Forest Preserve Police Officer, two
|
| 13 | | positions that he carried out with the utmost respect and
|
| 14 | | honor; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a former Communications |
| 16 | | Center Director at
the Lincolnway Public Safety 9-1-1; he was a |
| 17 | | member of the East Joliet
Fire Protection District for 23 |
| 18 | | years, where he retired as captain; he was a police officer for |
| 19 | | the cities of Frankfort and New Lenox; he was an employee at |
| 20 | | the
New Lenox Communications Center and a former member of the |
| 21 | | Argonne National
Laboratory Fire Department; and |
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, In addition to serving the community through his |
| 2 | | public
safety roles, Bradley Veerman volunteered his time |
| 3 | | whenever and wherever he could in order to improve and protect |
| 4 | | his community; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman was a member of the Ingalls Park |
| 6 | | A.C., a member and past
president of the New Lenox Fire |
| 7 | | Protection District Trustees, a member
and past president of |
| 8 | | the New Lenox and Frankfort F.O.P., and past
president of the |
| 9 | | East Joliet Fire Protection District Volunteer
Organization; |
| 10 | | he served as a volunteer for numerous
organizations and was a |
| 11 | | member of many boards; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman leaves behind a great number of |
| 13 | | family, friends, and neighbors; he was the beloved husband of |
| 14 | | April (Pearcy); the loving father of Nicole Veerman and Kevin |
| 15 | | Veerman; and the brother of Arthur "Butch" (Rachel) Veerman III |
| 16 | | and Kathy
(Duane) Hall-Roy; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bradley Veerman's legacy lies in his
genuine |
| 18 | | commitment to and care for his neighbor; therefore, be it
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 20 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 21 | | mourn the
loss of Bradley H. Veerman and celebrate his great

| 22 | | accomplishments; and be it further
