HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Gingham Tree Resale 
4Shop on the occasion of its 45th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, The Gingham Tree Resale Shop is owned and operated 
6by the Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary and provides 
7financial support for the not-for-profit hospital; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The Gingham Tree Resale Shop has donated over two 
9million dollars to the hospital over the last ten years; funds 
10have been used to enhance the hospital's Level 1 Trauma 
11Emergency Room and the pediatrics unit, to renovate the chapel, 
12to complete the Advocate Good Samaritan Health and Wellness 
13Center, to renovate the cardiac catheterization lab, and for 
14operating equipment for the new surgical suites;  and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, The Gingham Tree Resale Shop has 80 volunteers; 
16many volunteers have been with the shop from the beginning and 
17many haven been involved for 20 years; volunteers accept and 
18process donations and perform cashier and customer service 
19duties; in 2017, volunteers donated 14,034 hours to the shop's 
20operations; they fulfill their motto of, "You give us good 
21stuff. We do great things." by serving the community;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate the Gingham Tree Resale Shop on the occasion of 
4its 45th anniversary, and we wish them many more successful 
5years; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary as 
8an expression of our esteem and respect.
