HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Rock Island Lady Rocks 
4softball team on their 2018 Class 4A IHSA State Softball 
5Championship win; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Lady Rocks defeated the Lady Tigers of 
7Plainfield North by a score of two to one; they finished the 
8season with a record of 32 wins and five losses and were nearly 
9undefeated in their conference by winning nine out of ten of 
10their conference games; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Lady Rocks were rated second in the State and 
12first in their Class; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, This is the first State Championship Title for the 
14Rock Island High School softball program; and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, The Lady Rocks demonstrated sportsmanship and 
16great moral character throughout the entire season; therefore, 
17be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20congratulate the Rock Island Lady Rocks softball team, and we

1extend our best wishes for the continued success and happiness 
2of each member of the team; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the Rock Island Lady Rocks softball team as an 
5expression of our esteem and respect.
