| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Beni Cwiakala on being |
| 4 | | named the MasterChef Junior Season Six winner; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Beni Cwiakala served a three-course dinner that |
| 6 | | the judges called incredible; for the appetizer round, she |
| 7 | | served smoked salmon with corn blini, pickled radishes, and |
| 8 | | lemon-herb creme fraiche; in the entree round, she took a risk |
| 9 | | by serving a veal chop, something she had never cooked, with |
| 10 | | beet-potato fondant, red cabbage sauerkraut, and mustard cream |
| 11 | | sauce; for dessert, she served a deconstructed apple tartlet |
| 12 | | with walnut crumble, apple-brandy cream, and cranberry coulis; |
| 13 | | and

| 14 | | WHEREAS, Beni Cwiakala landed on top during more challenges |
| 15 | | than any other Season Six contestant; the final challenge |
| 16 | | capped a near-perfect season for her, and earned her praise |
| 17 | | from the judges, one of whom noted, "there's not an element |
| 18 | | that's done with anything short of perfection"; and

| 19 | | WHEREAS, Beni Cwiakala won a trophy and a $100,000 prize, |
| 20 | | which she said will go to organizations that help feed kids and |
| 21 | | a food truck she can eventually use to teach kids how to cook |
| 22 | | healthy food; and
