| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Pinckneyville High School |
| 4 | | seniors Dalton Pyatt and Kyle Kreger, along with Boat Captain |
| 5 | | Scott Kreger, on winning the Illinois High School Association's |
| 6 | | Bass Fishing State Championship at Carlyle Lake on May 19, |
| 7 | | 2018; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, This is the tenth year of the tournament; teams |
| 9 | | are comprised of two students and one adult captain who runs |
| 10 | | the boat; teams weigh their five heaviest bass that are 12 |
| 11 | | inches or longer; the combined two-day weight determines |
| 12 | | finish; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The first day of the tournament was overcast and |
| 14 | | included a thunderstorm delay of two hours and 15 minutes, the |
| 15 | | ninth time in ten years that the weather delayed, postponed, or |
| 16 | | shortened the tournament; the second day was mostly sunny and |
| 17 | | temperatures reached the 80s; the fishing changed from one day |
| 18 | | to the next, and the team chose to fish in the same spot both |
| 19 | | days because they knew the fish would be there; they used |
| 20 | | slower baits and their strategy paid off; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Dalton Pyatt and Kyle Kreger were tied with |
| 22 | | Rochelle for first place after the first day, when they caught |

| 1 | | five fish weighing nine pounds, six ounces; then on Saturday, |
| 2 | | they caught five fish at eight pounds, two ounces, for a total |
| 3 | | of 17 pounds, eight ounces; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Competing in fishing tournaments requires hours |
| 5 | | of casting practice and studying of lake maps, along with many |
| 6 | | trips to local sporting goods stores; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Dalton Pyatt, Kyle Kreger, and Scott Kreger serve |
| 8 | | as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the |
| 9 | | people of the State; therefore, be it
|
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 11 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 12 | | congratulate Pinckneyville High School Bass Fishing team |
| 13 | | members Dalton Pyatt and Kyle Kreger, along with Boat Captain |
| 14 | | Scott Kreger, on winning the Illinois High School Association's |
| 15 | | Bass Fishing State Championship at Carlyle Lake, and we commend |
| 16 | | their dedication; and be it further
